A New Chapter! (Life Update)

Hello Readers!

Firstly I would like to thank you all for being so understanding about why I haven't been as active on my blog as much as I would have liked. These past few months have been so stressful sitting exams after exams and it's an experience I am glad is finally over.

Now I have finished school and I have a nice long 11 weeks off for the summer I have a lot more time to work on expanding my blog. It is scary to think I am leaving my school as I did love it and all the lifelong friends I have made their but now it's time to start a new chapter in my life.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everybody luck with their exam results if you worked hard you will get the grades you deserve. However if your results are not what you hoped for don't worry. Your results do not define you as a person and life does go on. You can still get a good job, a nice house and a loving family with or without good exam results as long as you are determined and ambitious to achieve your dreams.  So whatever your results on results day just remember that you tried your best and that's all you can do, nobody should ever ask any more from you.

Good luck everyone and thank you for your support. Have a great summer break!

Life Update: Where Have I Been?

Hello Readers!

A lot of you have been wondering why I haven't been posting recently or active on Twitter. So I thought I owed you an explanation.

When I set up this blog I knew that it would be hard to keep up with my school work whilst posting here. But I never fully realised how much work actually goes into blogging. I love blogging so much but it had started affecting my school work. I am currently sitting exams and I knew they had to come first. I realised that sitting Exams and trying to post weekly just wasn't going to happen.

No way did I want to give up blogging either so I knew that I would have to write posts in advanced or sometimes have to miss a day.

This won't last for long as my exams finish in about a month. Please don't take this as me giving up blogging, it just means that I will be posting less frequently. I hope you understand

Pamper Evening Essentials!

Hello readers!

Nothing is better after a long day to run yourself a bath and put aside a couple of hours for some you time. In this time I like to pamper myself from head to toe!  I like to put aside time to pamper myself and to have a 'time out' from the rest of the world just to compose myself ready for the next week. Here are some of my favourite products to use during this time, enjoy!

1) St Ives Invigorating Body Scrub
This product has been a new addition to my pamper evenings and I can honestly say that I have fallen in love with it! This product leaves my skin feeling baby soft and leaves it with a radiant glow. this product is very affordable at only £5.49 a pot. and the pot lasts for a really long time! The smell of this product is lovely and now I can't live without it.

2) Imperial Leather 'love story' bath cream
I love this bubble bath for a relaxing soak. This product turns my bathwater into a light pink colour which I love (who doesn't love pink bath water!). This product has an amazing smell which helps me to relax. After I get out of the bath my skin is so smooth and hydrated. This product is great value for money as it only costs £1.99!

3) Sanctuary Spa 'cleansing burst' body wash
This body wash smells amazing. I wish this fragrance could be everywhere! Only a small amount of product is needed to get the job done. This again leaves my skin feeling baby soft and smooth. This product is good value for money at only £5.50 each.

4) montagne jeunesse 'Red Strawberry souffle' face mask
I love this brand for its face masks as they always do an amazing job and are great value for money. These face masks are so easy to use, just wait 15-20 minutes then wash off! I normally apply these masks whilst I'm in the bath then I wash it off just before I get out and voila I have healthy, smooth skin! These masks are great value for money at just £1 each!

After using these products my skin feels baby smooth and thanks me for it later! Tweet me or write in the comments your favourite pamper products either from this blog post or from your own collection!

Theme park survival kit!

Hello readers!

I was requested on Twitter to write a theme park survival kit blog post so here it is!

I absolutely love theme parks. The atmosphere and the rides are amazing. However I would never go to a theme park without my survival kit.

Firstly no matter the weather I would always wear sun cream to prevent damage to my skin. I always wear a special sun cream for my face as this is gentle on my sensitive face skin. Currently I am using the NO7 protect and perfect intense facial sun protection.

I would always recommend wearing a waterproof mascara in case of a sudden downpour or a water ride gets you soaking. I always carry around a face powder in case my skin gets oily during the day. My favourite is the Rimmel stay Matte powder. I would always wear a primer to make sure my makeup survives the whole day.

In case of downpours or getting soaking on water rides I always bring a waterproof coat. I brought a parka in a pocket. I love this as it keeps me dry whilst still looking fashionable. It is easy to carry around with you, no hassle needed. I brought mine from Primark for £5.

I definitely would always carry hair bands with me in case my hair gets wet or it starts to annoy me. Mine are from Primark.

Finally I would always wear comfortable shoes. I love wearing my converse.

Why Did I Start Blogging? Q&A!

Hello Readers!

Recently I asked some of my lovely readers on twitter to ask me all of their life, makeup, hair and nails questions! I loved doing this so that I could see exactly what my readers wanted to know about me!

If you want to be a part of the next Q&A I do either leave your question in the comments or tweet me (@weekly_beauty). Enjoy!

Question 1- Lauren  - "what is your 'holy grail' makeup product?"

I absolutely love mascara. It changes everything on your face by making you look instantly awake and alert. My favourite all time mascara is Maybelline's Lash Sensational mascara. This mascara gives great definition and length whilst being very affordable. If you would like to read my full review of this mascara: click here!

Question 2- Angela - "Should liquid liners be tossed every 3 months like mascara or keep using them until they run out?"

Ideally yes they should be thrown out every 3 months as just like mascara the applicator carries bacteria and leaves you at risk of getting an eye infection. This is also why you shouldn't share your eye products as you can carry bacteria from one eye to another and again be at risk of getting an eye infection. It can be expensive replacing your liquid liner every 3 months but it is worth it for your health!

Question 3- Chloe - "Why did you start blogging?"

I originally took inspiration from fellow bloggers and youtubers Zoella (Zoe Sugg) and Tanya Burr. When reading and watching them I thought I could do that, it looks fun. I also loved web design and connecting with people through social media so blogging was a perfect fit for me. I wanted to gain confidence in myself and the ability to achieve something that I could be proud of and also to feel a part of a community . So after months and months of convincing my parents I finally set up my blog on the 30th December 2015. I have loved every minuet of blogging and hopefully I will carry on for a long time.

question 4- 2 peas in a pod- "what do you see in the future of your blog"

It is my plan to continue blogging for a very long time and to steadily see my audience grow. I want my blog in the future to be the place where my audience can connect with me and each other in a friendly manner and to make friends for life.

Thank you for everybody who asked me a question! Don't forget to leave your questions in the comments or tweet me them (@weekly_beauty) to appear in my next Q&A.

Revision tips

Cue cards

Spider diagram

Hello readers!

Since exam seasons are quickly approaching now I thought I would share how I revise with you to help/motivate you to revise! Yes I realise how boring revising is, I absolutely hate it! But these techniques help make revision less boring than normal.

Remember when revising to take breaks every 20-30 minutes

1)      Cue cards
Whether it’s just questions or answers on the cue cards or facts it really doesn’t matter. Small pieces of information  are easier to remember in the long run as oppose to reading massive pages of text, it won’t go in. I also colour coordinated my cue cards to each subject e.g. blue for maths. This helps your brain associate a subject with a colour and remember it easier.  You can purchase cue cards from just about anywhere e.g. Tesco, whsmiths etc.

2)      GCSE pod
This is a really good website to listen to if you don’t feel like doing hard core revision.  I like to listen to this in the morning whilst getting ready. This website is like listening to a teacher so if you like learning through a teacher this website is for you.

3)      Spider diagrams
I don’t do to well with mind maps as I’m not very good with art and most of the time I can’t understand my own drawings. So I summarise information onto a A3 sheet of paper. Make sure you use colour to associate it with the information.  Each branch should be a different colour and about a different topic.

Leave your revision tips in the comments to help others out!

Hello 2016!

Welcome Readers!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have decided to make some new year resolutions and to share them with you so I actually have a chance to complete them. It is good to set aims and goals for yourself to keep you motivated. But I didn't want to set myself the clichéd resolutions that will not get completed (for example to loose weight, do more exercise)

Don't take life so seriously:
sometimes I forget to stop and enjoy the moment and end up regretting it after the moment is over.

Drink more water:
some days it is shocking about how little water I drink. Drinking more water has many advantages the main cosmetic reasons are: healthier skin, hair and nails.

Don't give up:
Life is hard, there are no short cuts. To get the things we want in life we have to work hard no one said it was going to be easy but it will be worth it.

Don't worry about what others think:
Although it can be hard to stop thinking about what others think you need to. As long as you are making yourself happy who cares what others think?

Live everyday like its your last:
you never know which day will be your last, so enjoy everyday and cherish every memory.

What are your new years resolutions? will you stick to them?
